VOICEMAIL LEFT AT TWELVE A.M:
"it's my birthday! it's my birthday! i'm so excited, cause it's my birthday! -laughing-"
VOICEMAIL LEFT AT TWELVE TWELVE A.M:
"it's still my birthday! and i really am excited. i seriously cannot wait until later today. it's been preparty all week but tonights the real deal. if i didn't know there was going to be an actual party tonight, i'd have thought that the other night was the best night of my life. party on the beach, i don't know what else i could have asked for. and then people stayed over... as if you can't already hear them. but i can't wait for the real thing. i owe you, or do i? i mean, i know i threw you an amazing birthday, as well, but isn't that what friends are for? anyways, i'm out, baby! peace."
VOICEMAIL LEFT AT THREE TWENTY TWO A.M:
"i love you! i do, i do, i do!"
VOICEMAIL LEFT AT SIX A.M:
"... -mumbling and giggling in the background-"
VOICEMAIL LEFT AT SIX FOURTEEN A.M:
"i wish you were here! where are you, anyways?"
VOICEMAIL LEFT AT NINE FIVE A.M:
"why aren't you returning my calls? are you mad at me? i don't know what i did, but i'm sorry, anyways! so, so, so sorry. you're my best friend... i just want you here."
VOICEMAIL LEFT AT ELEVEN TWELVE A.M:
"why do my rentals always have to kick me when i'm feeling so good about myself? i went downstairs this morning and the first thing my mom did was start yelling at me. she wishes i was some pageant, barbie doll that she could make do whatever she wants. it's just because we're so "high class" y'know, if your parents didn't have money i wouldn't even be allowed to be near you. my mother is convinced you can catch poor. i guess you kind of get used to it after a while, and that's why she doesn't reject my friends anymore. i must be picking all the right people. but... still. what if i turn into her some day? what if i already am? -crying-"
VOICEMAIL LEFT AT ELEVEN THIRTY TWO A.M:
"-screaming heard in background- do you hear that? she's turned into such a lune over the years. ...mom, i didn't touch your keys, get away from me. no, mom. what? i didn't do that! what are you talking about...? get lost. don't touch me! mom!"
VOICEMAIL LEFT AT TWELVE EIGHT P.M:
"-sobbing- today is going to be the worst day ever."
VOICEMAIL LEFT AT THREE SIXTEEN P.M:
"i thought you were coming over.. whatever i did, i really am sorry. i just... i need you here. please?"
VOICEMAIL LEFT AT SIX FOURTY FIVE P.M:
"you're really going to miss out if you aren't there tonight. honestly, i don't know what i'll do without you. my mom's been running around the house screaming all day and all i can do is listen to it until i can leave. i'm not even sure if she's going to let me leave, either. i couldn't find her keys so she grounded me for not looking hard enough or something like that. can't she act sane? for one day? for my birthday?"
VOICEMAIL LEFT AT SEVEN EIGHTEEN P.M:
"you're not here. i'm dressed. i'm leaving. bye."
VOICEMAIL LEFT AT EIGHT TWENTY EIGHT P.M:
"my dad just called, from wherever he's at now. apparently someone at school reported my "eating habits" my mom's seething. can't wait for that phone call."
VOICEMAIL LEFT AT EIGHT THIRTY THREE P.M:
"it was you, wasn't it?! that's why you're ignoring me! i only told you the other day! you asked and as my best friend i told you! you said you'd keep it a secret and you didn't. how dare you? who do you think you are? none of us are perfect. there's so many things i could have said about you. but did i? no. you're not perfect either, got it? it was none of your business to go off and tell someone what was going on in my life. you're trash. dead to me."
VOICEMAIL LEFT AT EIGHT FORTY TWO P.M:
"all i can say is, you're lucky you're not here right now. my mom just called, guess who's leaving for treatment at some school for crazies? you're so lucky you're not here."
VOICEMAIL LEFT AT NINE FIFTY SIX P.M:
"thank you for ruining my birthday. the birthday you planned. you should have just kept your mouth shut. now everyone knows."
VOICEMAIL LEFT AT TEN TWENTY SIX P.M:
"how could you? i thought you were my friend... i was right, too, today was the worst day ever."
VOICEMAIL LEFT AT ELEVEN ELEVEN P.M:
"wanna hear my wish? i wish i'd never become your friend. i always thought my mother was just being a snob when she went around lecturing me about the people i hung out with, saying i deserve better and how i could do better, as well. she was right. she's been right all along. you're trash, i could have done so much better."
VOICEMAIL LEFT AT ONE TWO A.M:
"-crying- i leave tomorrow. thanks for ruining my life."

NAME: jarika
AGE: fifteen.
EXPERIENCE: four years.
TIME ZONE: eastern?
OTHER CHARACTERS: none.
buffy was tired of school all ready and it was only october. and on top of it only being october for this school year she still had another left after this one ended. though, she knew she'd dread next year. she was going to have very many people left. a lot of her friends were seventh years and would be graduating this year. as would the rest of her family. ezra, her brother, would be graduating this year, and so would her cousin, susie. that was what family she had in the school, and she was going to miss them both when they left. she wasn't sure who she'd miss more... one of her friends or one of her family members. she had quite a lot of friends leaving her this year, and only a few would still be with her in her last year. but she'd grown up with her brother and susie. susie had been her best friend since buffy was born, seeing as susie was seventeen now and buffy had only just turned sixteen at the end of the summer. susie had always been at buffy's house, their parents used to confuse them for the other considering how alike they used to look when they were younger. as the years went by, buffy still found herself close to susie, seeing as susie was the girl that buffy told just about everything to. they'd been attached at the hip when they were younger, as well. and then there was her brother ezra, who was also a seventh year and would be graduating this year. he could be a pain in the arse and he definitely annoyed buffy every now and then but he was her brother and she always got over it. they'd fight and two minutes later they'd both act like it hadn't just happened. they'd been that way since they were younger, and ezra had always been there for buffy and vice versa. although, ezra was far more protective over buffy than anyone else, he was always watching over her and telling her what was right from wrong and often enough it got on her nerves. when buffy was younger she'd often had sleepovers with susie and they'd sleep in the same bed, and when susie couldn't or didn't stay over buffy would crawl into ezra's bed late at night. just thinking it over it was becoming more clear that she was going to miss her brother and cousin far more than any one of her friends who left after this year. she wasn't positive which one she'd miss more, she'd say susie considering ezra tended to get on her nerves, but ezra was her brother and she loved him just as much as she loved susie. maybe she'd draw it at an equal line. the more she thought about it the more she missed them already. she knew she wouldn't be alone at school next year. there were other friends, other people, and there was always regulus. there would just be less people she was fond of around. she was sure she could deal with that, but she'd still be missing people no matter how she went about dealing with it. she could always owl them next year, and she'd keep in touch. but it would definitely be different, she was so used to having those people around that just thinking about them missing was giving her the chills.
she could fend for herself, of course. she was completely inept, or inept at all! she just had difficulties with certain things. for example, there was charms and quidditch and other little things that she couldn't do thrown about. she couldn't cook, and she wasn't the best at focusing in class either. but she could clean just well, and surprisingly enough she was wonderful with little children. it was often predicted that she would break in two minutes and snap at them, but that wasn't all that likely. she could hold her temper with them, for some odd reason. maybe it was because she understood that they knew better. she always made a wonderful babysitter over the summer. she didn't mind little children. she wasn't horrible at potions or transfiguration and she could talk her way out of trouble. she was obviously well talented in other things, but a lot of the things she possessed a talent or skill or even a knack for seemed a tad pointless. but just because they all seemed rather pointless didn't mean she was useless or that she couldn't survive or fend for herself. she could easily fend for herself, she wasn't horrible in all of her classes. and it wasn't like buffy didn't know a thing or two; she knew plenty more than that. she wasn't sure if it was even possible to not know anything after having attended hogwarts for six years already. it's seemed rather impossible to buffy. and if it wasn't; then she just wasn't that type of student. after having sat in class day after day for six year she's obviously picked things up. fending for herself wasn't what she was worried about. at the moment, she wasn't worried about anything and she was pretty sure she wouldn't be next year when quite a few of her friends were gone along with her brother and cousin. she was just going to be a bit... lonelier. she wasn't sure if that was actually the word she was looking for. she was just used to having those people around and without them it'd seem... bare. or at least she was assuming it would. she wasn't even sure why she was thinking about this now. she had a whole year left before it came to that. she could think about it then.
buffy dropped one of her hands from her lap to the ground. palm down, her pale hand connected with the vivid green grass. it felt warm compared to her cold hands. she didn't turn around to look at him when he began talking and instead cast her gaze back out towards the water once more. "teach you how to swim?" she repeated back, not having meant for it to come out sounding like a question. she was slightly surprised he didn't know how to swim already. she wasn't going to say anything about it. some people just didn't learn the same thing others did. besides, she already knew that the black's were a bit of a... odd family, to the say the very, very least. "i could do that," she said nodding not turning back to look at him. why he was asking her of all people to teach him how to swim was a bit beyond her, though. he could have just as easily asked one of his other friends, that she knew he had. she turned her gaze back to regulus when he told her that he couldn't swim. she bit her bottom lip; his cheeks had turned red and she couldn't help but feel sorry for him. buffy was hardly thrilled at the mention of his mother, from what she had heard about regulus' mother she could only assume the woman was a total loon. "i'm sure you won't sink to the bottom," she replied. she ran her hand over the grass once more, toying with a strand of it with one of her fingers. she never knew what to say when he was doubting himself on something. one of these times she was just going to tell him off in a long rant. the long rant would be a long compliment in disguise, though. she'd thought it out time and time again, and every time he doubted himself on something else she was adding to it. she would more than likely have to shorten it up if she ever did decide to go off on him, seeing as she felt like she had quite a bit to go off on. she wasn't really sure if she would ever actually do that, though... her gaze was focused on the grass she was toying with, but when he said he was always in a good mood. who did he think he was kidding? a small smile lit up her face with what he said next, and a light blush fell over her white cheeks. she bit her lip before quietly stating, "i believe the mood is returned when you're around." she glanced back down at the grass she was toying with before placing that hand back in her lap again, "...i hadn't thought about it like that. i suppose you're right," she said glancing back up at him.
