HEY THERE, WHAT"S YOUR NAME?
"madison burton, but you can just call me mads, or madi. whatever works."
WELL THAT'S PRETTY FUCKING AMAZING. HOW OLD ARE YOU? WHEN'S YOUR BIRTHDAY? DO YOU LIKE YOUR AGE? WHAT GRADE ARE YOU IN?
"i'm seventeen, i was born on may 3. it's an okay age, i guess, i'd prefer to be 18 though. being a senior is pretty awesome though."
AWESOME. SO WHAT ABOUT YOU? WHAT ARE YOU LIKE, YOU KNOW, AS A "PERSON"?
"i'm loyal. i keep my friends' secrets. well, most of them. sometimes they slip out. i never betray friends either. i'm friendly and helpful, and definitely outgoing. i love being loud and animated. i love new friends too. i'm pretty polite, definitely respectful and not usually judgmental. i'm honest though. sometimes brutally honest. if i don't like you and you ask an opinion, it might not be pretty otherwise, i'll break it to you lightly. that's the normal me. i'm not quite the same all the time, seeing as i'm bipolar and all. i prefer not to talk about that though."
SWEET. SO HOW DID YOU GET HERE? HOW FUCKED UP ARE YOU? TELL ME ABOUT YOUR PAST. GO.
"i'm here because i'm bulimic and bipolar. cool combo, right? my life was pretty fucking great, i'm not gonna lie. me and my brother got along amazingly, my parents never fought. the worst thing that happened when i was little was that my dad got into a car accident. it was horrible, but he survived. it's all good. eighth grade came along, i got my first boyfriend. awesome. he was completely amazing, except that he started treating me like shit around his friends. it sucked. after two years, i left him. i was great, until the summer was over. he was everywhere at school. i couldn't handle it. it just completely fucked with me, and i felt depressed all the time. it definitely started out as depression. i did feel a bit suicidal, but i tried my best to just ease myself out of it. even if it meant turning to food for comfort. gorging myself wouldn't do, so i wound up purging afterward. then, i'm not even sure how, it was all so confusing at that time, my moods were all over. i'm in a good mood now, but when i'm angry, it's pretty dangerous. i have a bad temper to begin with. anyway, my parents totally noticed everything, and after seeing a billion doctors, i wound up here. awesome, right? not really."
WANNA TELL US SOME LIKES?
"i like animals a lot, hence why i’m a vegetarian and like veggie burgers and all those veggie foods. i do enjoy being in a relationship and the stuff it entails, like kissing and cuddling and hugs and all. i’m a big fan of electronics, especially iphones and blackberries. twitter is pretty great too. uh, music and movies are fun every once in a while, so i definitely like movie nights and going to concerts. i’m not sure what else. sunglasses, photography a bit, some partying, sleeping, obviously, and being snug under the covers. oh, citrus smells are nice too."
AND SOME DISLIKES?
"i hate animal cruelty and meat a lot, along with smoking, even though i smoke. my ex kinda pushed me nto that habit though, unfortunately. drugs are gross, sluts too. i hate liars and really nosy people. and people who are always optimistic. myspace only leads to getting stalked, so i hate that too stalkers are creepy. spiders are creepy too, haha. bad news and sappy love stories are lame. and i just wanna hide under the covers during reallyrealy bright days."
I GUESS WE'RE DONE HERE. ANYTHING ELSE?
"no, i think that's it. pretty sure you don't wanna know anything else about me."
WHY ARE YOU SCARED TO
" DREAM OF GOD WHEN IT'S SALVATION THAT YOU WANT? "

OTHER CHARACTERS: nonee.
madison kind of wondered what zane’s reaction would be if the tattoo artist messed up. she didn’t want it to happen, but it would be interesting if he did. no, actually, it wouldn’t. she didn’t wish the wrath of zane upon anyone. it was bad, and it would probably end up with the tattoo needles in the artist’s neck. maybe not. someone would be hurt though, and madison would be a witness. hello, assault charges. so instead of thinking about everything that could happen if it was done wrong, she began thinking of how it would turn out done right. it would be a cool tattoo for him, but not one she’d get. though the girl was dying for a tattoo, it had to have a meaning. one or two might be just because they looked cool, but madi didn’t want something she’d regret. or something that would look really stupid when she was older.
the teenager didn’t exactly expect to become a normal adult though. it didn’t seem like anytime soon she’d lose her interest in abnormal hair colors and looking overall different. blending in was boring, and it was a shame people felt the need to do so because they were getting older. who said you had to conform just because life was progressing? holding a normal job wasn’t in madison’s future, or so she hoped. a desk job would just kill her, especially if they had strict rules about appearances and conduct. she could never act normal and professional for longer than maybe a day. being too serious was boring. being on tour was her ideal career, though she knew she had to do more than sell merch. it really wasn’t the best job in the world. madi had no musical talent, so unfortunately being a musician wasn’t a possibility. hayden could always teach her how to do hair. that would be a really interesting job, and if she opened her own place, no one could tell her how to dress or look. it was a pretty perfect plan, aside from not knowing how to do hair.
madison wasn’t even out of high school yet, so she knew that plan had to be put off. high school was important if she wanted to do anything else besides sell merch. there really wasn’t that much left to do, actually. she was ahead of schedule, since the girl usually did work whenever she wasn’t busy with anything, even on weekends. it was helping out a lot, even though she felt like a nerd whenever she was doing schoolwork and everyone was out having fun. dropping out would be the stupidest thing for her to do though, especially with graduation so close. then, once she graduated, probably starting that night, madi would just go out and have fun all the time. until it became sickening. the pink haired girl hoped to never get as bad as some of the people on tour, who went out and got completely shitfaced every night, only to wake up on the bathroom floor the next morning. that was when you knew you had a problem, but most people didn’t want to address it. rehab would probably be torture for them. not having to do much for yourself would be pretty sweet though.
“hey, i’m gonna be eighteen in a couple months. i’m not that juvenile.” it was said as more of a joke, obviously no offense taken. it was true that her birthday was in a couple months though. that was another day she couldn’t wait for, mostly because it would mean she was in total control of herself. her parents would have no say over what she did, and they couldn’t boss her around. this almost was like being on her own though, because they weren’t on the tour with her telling her what to do. if they were on tour, they probably wouldn’t be too happy with all of her decisions. friends with benefits weren’t so acceptable in their eyes. “not quite. i’ve only kissed one guy recently, and i’m sure you can guess who.” zane was her only friend with benefits, and she wanted to keep it that way. fooling around was fine, but when it was with a bunch of people, you qualified for a whore. in madison’s opinion, anyway.
his tattoo seemed to be going well, and madi still didn’t want to talk. it would sound so weird. sticking her tongue out, the girl looked down at the new piercing as best she could, feeling the slight pain. it was still basically an open wound, so it would hurt. the teenager kept her tongue in her mouth for a minute before deciding to say something. silences were kind of awkward for her. “i sound funny,” she whined slightly with a bit of a laugh. it sounded like she had something in her mouth to complicate her talking. the taunting was just something madison would have to put up with to avoid a silence. zane did it all the time, so it wouldn’t be too different than usual. this would just last a bit longer than usual, since her tongue would be swollen for a little while, and talking would take some getting used to.
